The Molly Pitcher Troup, a committee of the Carlisle Theatre is pleased to announce the creation of the Carlisle Theatre School. A group of theatre professionals will guide students ranging in ages from 6th grade to adult in a program developed to increase imagination, acting methods and creativity as well as the basic theatre skills.

This drama course will be offered for four groups-

  • 6th grade and younger
  • 7th grade to 9th grade
  • 10th to 12th grade
  • Adults

The only prerequisite is that the younger children be able to read. Class times are 9-10 AM for the first group, 9 to 10:30 AM for 7-9 grade students, 10:30 to 12:00 PM for 10 to 12th grades and the adult classes.

The classes will be taught on Saturday mornings beginning on May 24th and continuing for the next four Saturdays. The tuition is $ 50. for the 6th grade and younger group and $75. for the other three groups.

Advanced registration is required and class size is limited to 12 students. A student will be guaranteed a place in class upon receipt of payment in full. Tuition does include materials and texts. There will be no tuition refunds after the start of classes.

The instructors are Richard J. Frost, Bob Crawford and EK Weitzel. Mr. Frost, prior Artistic Director at Allenberry Playhouse, is a noted director and administrator as well as accomplished theatre technician. Bob Crawford, active in central Pennsylvania theatre for more than 40 years is a writer, actor, director, and instructor. EK Weitzel, active in local community theatre for 25 years, has acted, stage managed, and produced many productions.
